Eighty

Happy Birthday Grandpa Great! Tonight we went to Chuck-a-rama for family night to celebrate Tony's Grandfather turning 80 years old. It was lots of fun. The whole family gathered there, ate dinner and talked. Then we toasted Grandpa (great). He talked a little and thanked everyone for being there. His wife (Nana Great) told some stories about him. We had a great time and the best part was how happy Grandpa was. Who knows maybe I will live to be 80???!!! Happy Birthday!!!!

Enchanted

I am Enchanted!!! It's just like the song from the movie Enchanted says..."How will you know.."

I know Tony loves me because he is always so thoughtful, for example:

Tony and I recently celebrated our anniversary. He found a babysitter (thanks Kathy). Let me buy a new outfit. and then he planned for a night away at the Anniversary Inn complete with a massage package, chocolates, movie to watch (a romantic one of course!), and a yummy dinner out. It was such a nice get-a-way! I felt so relaxed and ready to re-enter the real world (being a mom and wife) when we got back. Amazing what 24 hours, a little sleep and a bit of pampering can do!!!! Tony is great!!!! He is such a wonderful, supportive husband! Happy Anniversary Honey!

Green Eggs and Ham

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!! I love St. Patrick's Day because my favorite color is green. Today the kids and I dressed in Green (Daddy did too, but he had to work). Rylan thought that it was fun and even got to pich his grandpa (before he put his green on for the day). Today my friends Dorey (Dorin, Aiden) and Regina (Jake, Noah) went to see Horton Hear's a Who. It was for the Mom's movie Monday (kids are free) the kids really enjoyed it and it was a cute movie. Then we went and ate Brunch at Ihop. "Since a person's a person, no matter how small..." I let Rylan order what he wanted for breakfast. He decided that he wanted "Who Cakes" in "Jo-Jo's breakfast." He loved it!!!! Alana cried 1/2 of brunch because she wanted to be "Big" and run around with the older kids. She even got her fingernails painted for the first time by Jolie (Dorey's sister)....anything to keep her quiet for a few minutes. It was a great day!!!!! Happy St. Patrick's Day, espically to all those GREEN lovers.

Lucky Me!

Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone! I just want to say LUCKY ME! Maybe a bettter way of saying it is wow, I am blessed!!!! I just wanted to write a few ways that I feel LUCKY (or blessed).

Lucky to: Have the gospel in my life, to live in a free country, to have been raised by wonderful parents, to have a great family, to have nice things, to have good friends (thank you all who have been a great support to me during the past few months), to have good food to eat, clothes to wear and warm/safe place to live, to have a fantastic husband (Tony you're the best!!!), smart-cute amazing kids, to have hot showers, electricity, and if you really think about it everything. (This post could be really long if I listed everything) Anyway, just wanted to be thankful for ALL that I have. I am LUCKY and Very blessed.

Happy Birthday Pops!

Happy Birthday Dad! Today we celebrated my fathers birthday. He turned 63 today. We had a family party tonight. We had a family dinner and let him decide the menu. He chose to have cornish game hens (chicken) for dinner along with salad, corn on the cob, asparagus, cheesy potatoes, and cat eye salad (you will have to ask my dad about that one). My brother Creighton came from Provo and brought his friend LaCol with him. We all had dinner together and then we made dessert. Creighton made fried bananas and served it with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. I made Raspberry Ribbon Torte. It is a really yummy dessert that my mom used to make and it is beautiful not to mention delicious!! My dad requested it and he seemed pleased that I was willing to make it (it takes a little work). It was fun and I am glad that I could make it for him. My brother Garrett called on the phone from Phoenix. He and his clan sang him "Happy Birthday over the phone." I think that the day turned out nice. Just wanted to wish one of the most important men in my life a wonderful day, and let him know how much I appreciate him. He is one of the nicest, smartest, and funniest people that I know. I love you pops!!!!

It's about TIME!

You know, it really is all about TIME. Timing is everything. Time affects everything. This weekend was daylight savings TIME. I am really excited for it, because it means that Spring is almost here and spring brings nicer weather. However, I don't like the fact that it messes with my schedule. When you have kids you work really hard to get them on a schedule, and that takes TIME (and some doing). Daylight savings TIME messes everyone up. AHHHH!!! Then you work really hard to get going on that schedule and a few months later you are switching back. I do have to say, it is nice to have that extra hour of sunshine though!!!!!! Speaking of TIME, where does the TIME go???? It seems like you have so much TIME to do things and then by the TIME you get a few things crossed off your list it is bedTIME.
Anyway enough about....this weekend we went to our friend Steve's 30th Birthday party (Happy Birthday Steve). It was a blast. At the party they had a little play area arranged for the kids and they got to play while the adults socialized. At the party we played the White Elephant game and then played Dodge-Ball. We had such a great TIME. It was also a theme party, so we dressed in 1980's attire. Talk about going back in time. It was great to see what everyone was wearing.
The other thing we did this weekend was The Home and Garden Show. Every year my Dad (Sterling Herrmann) has a booth at the show. There are different vendors having to do with home/garden and they are promoting their businesses. It is fun and interesting to see what ideas and products are out there. So we spent most of the day there and then came home and did a few things around the house. I really liked my Dad's booth this year. It looked really nice. He gets a lot of his business for the upcoming year from the show. I think he is also excited that spring/summer is coming. We all have Spring fever and it is about TIME for it to be here.

Anyone for Leap-Frog?

Yeah!!! I think Rylan is finally getting the whole potty thing. He has been doing really good now for 3 days. He told me today that he needed to "go potty". He went #2 so, today was his second time going #2 and he has been dry all day also. (I never thought that I would be talking about this or so excited either, but when you are changing 2 diapers every time it makes a big difference.) So that was one great thing about today. The other big thing is that today is leap year day. So since it was Leap Year Day we decided to have a Leap Year Day party. The theme was frogs. It was really fun for the kids. We invited some of Rylan's friends and their mommies (my friends) and played a few frog themed games like Crown the Frog Prince; Froggy Find, and Hop, Hop, Leap. The kids also colored pictures of Frogs. We made a froggy themed lunch. We had chicken fingers (or frog legs), FROG eye salad, Celery with peanut butter and raisins (Flies on a Log), Limeaide (Swamp Water), Frog Cup Cakes, and Chips and Dip (Chips and Fly dip). It was fun and the best part was the kids enjoyed themselves while learning about Leap Year. I love it when you accomplish learning while you're having fun. I think that Alana's favorite part was the game Hop, Hop, Leap. It is played just like Duck, duck, goose. She get's so thrilled with that game. After the party Jenna (Tony's cousin) cut and colored my hair while Gracie (her daughter) and Rylan played. I don't think Rylan has played so well with anyone. They had so much fun and after she left, Rylan said to me "Mom, I miss Gracie, I want a friend over again." It was so cute. Tonight we got to play games with our good friends Spencer and Jessica. We had a great time. We always enjoy playing games with them. It was a good day. I am really glad we got this extra day this year! Happy Leap Year Day!!!!
