Thrill Ride!!!

I was thinking the other day that it had been 3 years since Tony's brain surgery. It got me thinking about how my life thus far has been a rollercoaster ride. We have had so many ups and downs since we have been together even up to recently. I still can't believe that my mom is gone, but I do have to say I have a great life no matter how "thrilling" it may get at times. Just the other day, as I was clipping a few coupons, Rylan said to me..."Mommy are you cutting out Puke-ons" it was pretty funny. So like I said on my last post the good time do out weigh the challenging times. Hope you are enjoying your ride as much as I am mine!!

Mommy and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day!

Have you ever had one of those day where everything just seems to go wrong? Or you just start off wrong and then your mood is sour for the rest of the day??? Ya, well I had one of those days yesterday. I had so many things to do, and Rylan and I were not seeing eye to eye. He was throwing tantrums and then Alana would start to cry. I think I said "No" a million times. I guess I just got stressed, overwhelmed, or just tired. I feel like I have not been able to acomplish anything this week. I shouln't complain, because I do realize how blessed I am! I miss my mom....she always knew what to say, she had the perfect advice or she would just listen. Sometimes she would just take over the kids and let me have an hour or two away and I would come back feeling like I could be a better mom. I am so thankful for the good days that I have with my kids. The good/cute moments outweigh the hard ones. Today was much better, so sorry for a post that is less than inspiring, but I'm keeping it real! You know what they say..."If mamma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Here's to a great day with the kids. By the way you should read the book Alexander and the terrible, horrible, no good very bad day. It is a cute childrens story.

Yum-a-roni

Macaroni and Cheese or as my little Alana would say "Roni Cheese". She loves it. When I am trying to figure out what to fix for lunch, almost with out fail Macaroni and Cheese it at the top of both of my kids list. Here is a picture of a normal days lunch. Yum!

Li'l Slugger

Rylan had his first T-Ball game last night. When we got there his coach gave him his hat and shirt. Rylan got the number one. I thought that was great, because he is my number one.The shirt is totally big on him and went down to his knees. He looked so darling in it. He had a blast running around. Tony got to come to his first game and that pleased Rylan. He tried to help Ry get the ball and run. It was really funny because when all the boys tried to get the ball they doggie piled eachother (it looked like football and not t-ball) it was pretty funny. Then when it was their turn to hit, they would hit the ball and then run and try and get it (since that is what they were doing before) too cute! The boys all had fun and looked so charming out on the field. Way to go Rylan!!! You're my little slugger.

Garbage Day...Hooray!

Oh yes, Today is garbage day. My kids get so excited to see the garbage truck. Today Alana heard the truck and woke up and was saying "Truck, truck, truck" until I got her up, so we could look outside at it. We had to wake Rylan up so that he could partake on the truck watching ritual that happens every Monday morning. He was thrilled that he was woken up to such a marvelous thing. They are so cute. In a way I a glad that the garbage man comes too (can you imagine how much trash you would have if he didn't???) so...Garbage Day Hooray!!!

Pearly Whites

Rylan will do almost anything to get out of going to bed. Tonight he said "We forgot to brush my teeth" the conversation continues from there....
Me: "It's ok Rylan just go to bed and we'll brush them in the morning" (Not what I would usually say but I was tired)
Rylan: "But mom, they're really dirty! Can I please brush them???!!!"
Me: "Ok, Ry come on and we will brush them."

He excitedly jumps out of bed and brushes his teeth. At that point I had to get the camera because it was too cute. I am so glad that he (and Alana too) love to brush their teeth. (Even if it is late and I am tired)! Way to go Rylan that's why you and Alana didn't have any cavities this month when you went to your very first dental apointments.

Other things that happened today...My dad spoke in church. Seeking after the truth and learning it through the Holy Ghost and Music. It was really good. My dad is a great public speaker and his talk was funny. I had several people comment and one of our friends said that he almost snorted in church because it was so funny. After church I got a nap which is rare (but much enjoyed) then we had a yummy steak dinner with oven roasted potatoes, corn on the cob, fresh cut green beans. For dessert we had Sopapilla Cheesecake. My brother Creighton came over and we all hung out. It was a nice evening.

GNO

GNO-Girls night out baby!!! I so needed this break. I think I was seriously about to have a melt down or grown up tantrum or something...anyway it was just enough time away from the house and kids and I was ready to get back into the swing of things. A group of us make home-made cards and get together to exchange them. We went to dinner at a chineese food place called Fortune Cookie. It was good. The best part was the great company and no screaming kids. We traded our cards and then went to Target for some thrills. It was a blast! Cute cards too!!! Here are some samples.

Here are the ones that I made.

One fine spring day...

One fine spring day...(today) we went to the tulip festival. We were invited by my friends Jessica and Alicia. We went down to Thanksgiving Point and walked through the gardens. It was so beautiful and we was grateful to be outside in the sunshine and enjoy the spring weather. The flowers and gardens were so gorgeous. Rylan had fun splashing in the fountain and Alana liked sniffing the flowers. (She is such a girl!) She didn't have as much fun as I thought she would. She was a little clingy. We all ate lunch there. It was fun. We loved being outside and getting some exercise. Thanks for the invite Jessica. After that I decided to take Alana to the pediatrician. They checked her out and couldn't find anything wrong with her. I know she is getting a few new teeth so I am going to attribute her fever and crankiness to that, because she did not have ANY other symptoms besides a fever, so we went home and had dinner. Overall it was One Fine Spring Day!

Popcorn popping

I looked out the window and what did I see???

popcorn popping on the apricot tree.

My kids love this song, and ironically my dad has an apricot tree in his backyard, so the kids love it when it blossoms in the spring time. It's so cool too because from the dining room window you can see the tree so we literally "Look out the window" My dad is a great grandpa (Opa). He loves showing the kids anything to do with nature so he gets so excited when the kids look out the window and then sing this popular primary song.

Eat at Joe's

Eat at Joe's. Just kidding...Eat at Mimi's!!!! Today the kids and I went to lunch at one of my favorite places....Mimi's Cafe. It was delicious as usual. My Aunt Jean met us there. It was nice to get out, and good to catch up on the news of the extended family. The rest of the day consisted of a few other stops and then home. Other than that it was a normal day. Pretty normal, but seriously Eat at Mimi's. Yum.

What a RUSH

Ever watch one of those movies that just makes you feel good after you're done watching it??? I love walking away with that feeling after watchin' a flick, and not feeling like I've wasted my time or seen anything questionable. What a RUSH!!! I think August Rush may be one that we purchase and add to our collection. Anyway, if you haven't seen it, you may want to watch it.
